A Christmas Time or A Christmas Poem by Bata inspired by Charles Dickens
Untitled
Entering the schoolyard the young boy looks around rippled engaged in glee. He proceeds to the Carolers and asks them for a song. They sing with blue birds crossing tails wagging so bright. “What do you wish for on this Christmas night,” one speaks. The young boy replies, “a song my mom used to sing me to sleep.” The lady starts singing ‘Raptures Delight’ and finishes the song with a cadence from ‘Silent Night.’
“Oh that’s the song that brought tears to my eyes…and the lids closed with water inside,” quoted the boy. He then stepped to the stone wall and young lady sted by his side. “What is the significance of red and green to the holidays?, asked the lad. The lady (bright cheeks with a smile) says, “Well red is for the heart, while green stands for a story.” “What story,” says the boy, “and why is it so important?” “This is Christmas Time and story is the one you write.”
This poem resembles the spirit that never dies, which is parallel to the story ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens. No matter what words people take from you (and put their name on it), or take shots at you sideways, you spirit…my Christmas spirit they can never take that from us.
