Kingstonian Project faces adversity with local residents
Kingston (NY) ironically the former capital of NY, until a fire blazed it to Albany, is looking to basically rebuild an entire section of Kingston downtown, and is facing heavy scrutiny among local residents. One major concern is parking. The Project fails to address parking concerns. Another obvious issue is moving the current residents, as the rent is supposed to go way beyond the legal 30% raise-above-previous-rent allowance. The money is a grant, but it is borrowed from the government, so it increases the national debt. Is it worth it?
The county is accepting written submissions until Sept 6, and another public meeting will be held Sept 11, 4-6pm at Kingston City Hall, 420 Broadway, Kingston NY.
